Offence of counterfeiting coin, Government stamps, currency-notes or bank-notes is punishable with :-

imprisonment for not less than 7 years but which may extend to 10 years, and fine

imprisonment for not less than 10 years but which may extend to 15 years, and fine

death or imprisonment for life, or imprisonment upto 10 years, and fine

imprisonment for life, or imprisonment upto 10 years, and fine

"Possession of forged or counterfeit coin, Government stamp, currency-notes or bank-notes" is punishable with :-

imprisonment which may extend to 3 years or fine or both

imprisonment which may extend to 5 years or fine or both

imprisonment which may extend to 7 years or fine or both

imprisonment which may extend to 10 years or fine or both
